THE CONTENTIOUS LGBT ISSUE

It is always beautiful to air out issues especially when the subject becomes a matter of concern for the entire universe. The contentious LGBT issue has become not a darling with many African nations. We CANT tolerate such stuff in our continent!!Never and America please go away with your aid. We dont need it. Theses are not my sentiments, these are the sentiments that have been aired out by many nations of Africa. Uganda has been on the lead on this and of course Mugabe has not been left behind.

But let us try to look into this issue more clearly and try to see where this discussion leads to.
What is the origin of gays and same sex marriage in the world and what does history say about it?
Today in my land Kenya many people are opposed to this idea of same sex marriage. Me included.
Why would a man want to marry another man? What has changed about the family that has now sparked this uproar on same sex marriage? Probably the question that we all ought to be asking ourselves is what is the purpose of marriage? Many especially those on the side of same sex marriage would argue on the context of companionship. A very super way of thinking maybe, but wait,Is that the soul purpose of marriage?

I strongly do believe that it is only through marriage of different sexes that we can get to ensure that the human race continues to exist in the world. I will really be happy if a person supporting same sex marriage would help me understand how if the whole world went for same sex marriage we will ensure that the human race does not become extinct. Please help me understand this. I am so sure the LGBT proponents would want to see this species of people continue to exist in the world. Please help me understand how you will ensure that your existence won't be affected after years. You are not immortal I believe.

Another question that I would like to put across is, Had it been that your father or mother had opted to go a partner of same sex where would you have been today? Probably I should ask this, Are you happy that you are in the world today? If yes, please let be clear to you that you are a product of heterosexuals and so please why not reciprocate that favor that some people did to you and saw that you came to this world?

Uganda recently was denied a loan of 90 million US dollars by the world bank on the basis of the fact that their president had signed in the law hindering same sex marriage!! Is this really fair to the people of Uganda as a nation? Isn't it not a factor that Uganda has its own sovereignty and hence political self determination? Is it a must that they should dance to the tune of some other states even if they don't like it?

Let us briefly check on the historical context basing our focus on the religious teachings of all regions. Is there any that supports same sex marriage? Was it by mistake or coincidence that they all opposed it? May be but I doubt. In these books they have indicated that the end of same sex marriage has been catastrophic!! They say that to predict the future look at the past and I don't think any of us would want to see another Sodom.

But seriously, if cocks don't go for cocks to mate, why should man who is regarded as the most intelligent indulge in this?

when laws seem too bitter

What is the fate of Kenya in the ongoing ICC mayhem?

Just before the elections the then mp for gatundu had promised that if elected president he would treat the case against him as a personal issue! Today the tone has changed and through his spokesman after being elected president the former mp for gatundu is claiming that the ICC case is no longer a personal issue!
WHAT HAS CHANGED?

Recently a special AU  meeting was convened in Adis ababa to discus this contentious issue. The resolution for almost all the anglophone states plus the francophone nations was to give the ICC an ultimatum that they must comply to failure to which they will convene again for a drastic action to be taken against the Hague based court. "African presidents should be exempted from the trials!!" a statement that was highly echoed during the unusual A.U gathering.

Was this to mean that African leaders can commit crimes then be let free just because they are in power and then after they exit power they be reminded of their faults?
Does it mean that if one becomes the president he is immune to the law?

Koffi Annan an eminent personality in Africa tried to clear the wave of confusion about the case by categorically stating that it is not Kenya that is being tried at the Hague but specific individual! This statement was also echoed by  Mr. Tutu.

This is very true, it is not Kenya that is being tried at the ICC but specific personalities. If the individuals are very sure they did not commit the crimes  why not go and clean their names?
Issues like they are the president and deputy president should not arise at the moment. They all vowed to the public that they would manage the situation even after Mr odinga and Martha karua being very categorical and telling them it would be a turmoil to run the country through skype. Where has the statement a gentleman's agreement gone to? Africa needs leaders that can be able to keep their word.

Kenya entered the Rome statute voluntarily as provided for to every state in the Vienna convention on the law of treaties 1969 article 6, EACH AND EVERY STATE HAS THE CAPACITY TO CONCLUDE A TREATY.
The treaty goes ahead to provide a way through which a state can put across reservation on what the terms of the treaty can not apply to it so long as it does not defeat the purpose and objective of the treaty.
I suppose Kenya didn't put across a reservation that its presidents should be exempted from trials an d if it did the request was not granted for that would be defeating the purpose and objective of the treaty.

The international law has made it clear that no person is above the law through the Nuremberg tribunal of 1950  that set up the seven basic principles of international law.( check principal number 3)

Facts be told, the victims of the 2007/2008 post election violence must get justice so all the alleged actors in it should follow the laid down procedures and be vindicated if not found guilty.

of course the court has also to bear in mind that the accused have constitutional obligations to deliver to the constituencies that gave them the mandate to govern the country. Hence applying the win win approach for both parties would probably be the best but the rule of law must be upheld.

WHATS WRONG?

Africa though endowed with lots of people, resources and even different tribes, we are detered ot suuceed as a nation because of the politics of the ostrich the has dominated many african nations! we see that clearly there are problems coming up yet we hide our heads in the sand and pretend that it aint a big issue, just like the ostrich does, it hides its head in the sand and forgets that 90% of its body bis exposed!

what went wrong with africa? is it that we cant step up and be the continent that we have always wanted?
discovery of gold mines in congo leads to war! discovery of oil in kenya leads to political struggles! discovery of anything vital in the african soil has always to something negative coming up!
are we that naive like many people out there claim?

it is high time africa as continent we take advantage of the ample resources we are blessed with and use them to better our best! language differences for instance should not be a recipe for war in africa instead we should use it for the benefit of ourselves, i believe that different tribes have got something special that they can bring on board and help build africa!

Africa we have the potential and we can make it only if we decide to! The choice lies in our hands, elect leaders that are objective oriented and push africa forwad or elect the self centered people who will spend lots of the states billions in the expensive hiltons and sheratons with the so called development partners while lots of the citizens are languishing in the quagmire of poverty.

THE KENYA I LONG FOR

i know that in each and every right minded kenyan citizen mind they are thinking of the coming general election. great to think like that! but what is our take of power? do we think of power as a tool to use to gain what we have always longed for?

according to me being in power means that you are able to use your power to involve the people in your governance. giving people a chance to air their views and giving them a chance to be what they want to be provided they respect the uniqueness of each and every person.

many may continue calling for peace but without people respecting the dignity of the other person this may just be a call that may be it might never get a response! i think that we need to know that peace is not absence of war but it is the recognition of each and person's dignity and uniqueness.

as kenyans, we have got greater things to fight, corruption, diseases and ignorance. it is only we that can be that change we want to see. kenya we have come from far and i believe that if we just let go 'the let me kill my neighbour mentality and the politics of the ostrich of hiding the head in the sand and pretending that our problems are gone yet they are just behind us kenya will be a great place. we have already made tremendous milestones and i believe we can also achieve this only if we focus on the principals the founding fathers of this nation had. peace , love and unity these are the only we need to move on.

in the coming elections i urge all kenyans to keep peace.

KEEP PEACE ALIVE KENYA

CAN KENYANS BE MARVELLED BY THE BEAUTY OF OUR FLAG AND MAINTAIN PEACE LOVE AND UNITY?

KENYANS LETS BE AMBASSADORS OF PEACE IN THE COM ING GENERAL ELECTION.

KENYA NEEDS YOU AND ME AFTER THE ELECTION.

KEEP PEACE FELLOW KENYANS. AFTER ALL WE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN BEING KENYANS. WE RUIN IT OR WE PROTECT IT. KENYA IS MINE AND YOURS.

I HOPE WE WILL NEVER BE READY TO BRING DOWN WHAT WE HAVE WORKED FOR FOR SO LONG.
