i know that in each and every right minded kenyan citizen mind they are thinking of the coming general election. great to think like that! but what is our take of power? do we think of power as a tool to use to gain what we have always longed for?
according to me being in power means that you are able to use your power to involve the people in your governance. giving people a chance to air their views and giving them a chance to be what they want to be provided they respect the uniqueness of each and every person.
many may continue calling for peace but without people respecting the dignity of the other person this may just be a call that may be it might never get a response! i think that we need to know that peace is not absence of war but it is the recognition of each and person's dignity and uniqueness.
as kenyans, we have got greater things to fight, corruption, diseases and ignorance. it is only we that can be that change we want to see. kenya we have come from far and i believe that if we just let go 'the let me kill my neighbour mentality and the politics of the ostrich of hiding the head in the sand and pretending that our problems are gone yet they are just behind us kenya will be a great place. we have already made tremendous milestones and i believe we can also achieve this only if we focus on the principals the founding fathers of this nation had. peace , love and unity these are the only we need to move on.
in the coming elections i urge all kenyans to keep peace.

Save Lake Turkana!
My name is Ngatuk. I live in northwestern Kenya in a small village called Todonyang'.
I am happy to visit Kibera to share information about what is happening with the Gibe III dam, under construction in Ethiopia, which will destroy Lake Turkana and the livelihoods of many people. All of the people of Kenya, especially the youth, should be aware of the coming environmental destruction of the Gibe III dam.

I am delighted to meet Ignatius Juma, a young activist
from Kibera. I started as an
activist myself when I was only seven.
I went to the police to complain about a child who was beaten by the
police. From that day on, I have
been a human rights activist.
I say to Ignatius, never ever give up. God bless you in what you are
doing.

Note:
Ngatuk lives in Todonyang' a village near Lodwar. He is working with environmental activists around the world
to stop the Gibe III dam in Ethiopia which will destroy Lake Turkana. He met me at Hot Sun
Foundation where Ngatuk was being interviewed by Kibera TV.
Ngatuk gave me information about Gibe III Dam and the drying up of Lake Turkana, which will destroy the livelihoods of 500,000 people.
I gave him a DVD of KIBERA KID to share with his community.
